Copyright piracy has one revolutionary important upside, and one equaly significant downside.
The upside is that it significantly increases the efficiency of distribution, in more than one way. Firstly, it allows worldwide distribution within moments, secondly it allows distribution regardless of the economical presiquities of the reciever.
The downside is that the producer gets nothing in return for the the usage of his products throughout the pirate distribution systems. Furthermore, the pirate systems compete with systems that do give returns to the producer ie the market system.
------
Let's say that you would ad an additional 10% on your todays expences (regardles of how large thay are as of today) on all copyright material that you put out in a year. In return, the industries would hand over all produced copyright material to you on a silver plater. Would that be fair? Would you benefit? Would the industry benefit? Oh, yes.
To be continued...
